Montére Farms carefully selects the best homes for our puppies', which is why we ask everything we do in the application.
All puppies veterinarian checked to be in good health prior to going home.
Once we receive your application, we will contact you to discuss availability and next steps. Depending on availability, Montére Farms may make a puppy selection for you, based on your Puppy Application responses, so please provide as much information as possible.
FAQs and Requirements:
Puppy Pickup:
- Puppies will not be released until they have reached the age of 8 weeks. Puppies cannot be shipped. A pickup time will be scheduled and we will go over all the information in the puppy packet as well as general puppy care info, health info etc. Please allow at least one hour for your pickup appointment.
AKC Registration:
- Your puppy will need to be registered before going home (please bring a check or credit card for the $35 registration to AKC). Please note that ALL pet homes will receive limited registration on their dog which means dogs are not allowed to be used for breeding purposes. For those interested in showing/breeding please call to further discuss your individual situation/experience.
Deposits:
- We require a $500 deposit to reserve your puppy and officially get on our “list” for an upcoming litter. If your application is accepted and you place your deposit then once the puppies are born you would submit an additional $1000 with your signed puppy agreement, and then would pay the balance of $2000 when you pick up at 8 weeks.
Pre-Puppy Delivery:
- Your puppy will receive de-worming every two weeks until they go home, and will be veterinarian checked for good health with a health certificate from the vet prior to pick up. I keep everyone on the waiting list updated with pictures and info on how the pups are growing etc. I pick pups for families taking into consideration what they want to do with their dog, their lifestyle etc. Then match the puppy that fits best according to the puppy evaluations/temperament testing at 7-8 weeks.
Spayed or Neutered:
- Your puppy must not to be spayed or neutered prior to the age of 12 months, but must be spayed/neutered by 2 years of age.
Puppy/Dog Returns:
- If you find yourself unable to care for your dog, he or she must be returned to Montére Farms. We are not able to offer any refunds for pets that have to be returned (after the initial 48 hour health guarantee).
